Some Experiences on the National Reconciliation and Harmony

of Vietnam after National Unification

National and people division by war is not what a nation to desire. The Vietnamese people have experienced the pain of separation for almost a quarter of a century. Therefore, the national peace and unity in 1975 and then the process of national reconciliation and harmony took place smoothly because in the hearts of the Vietnamese, the Vietnamese people and nation are one.


This article addresses the process of the national reconciliation and harmony between the North and South Vietnam in terms of cultural, social and educational aspects after 1975, on the basis of some experiences it is able to highlight in such examples as centralized and unified leadership and direction of the management apparatus and the leadership from central to local level; condemning people for national separation, anti-national reconciliation and harmony as offenders; closing the past towards the future, for a people and for a unified nation in common development and so on.

Situated at the Southeast Asian peninsula, stretching along the western Pacific, along with delta and mountainous terrains, seas and rivers have contributed to the traditional composition, cultural identity, economic foundation, conception, lifestyle of Vietnamese generations.


In the current trend of the Vietnamese historiography, scholarship increasingly looks forward to a further comprehensive and dialectical view of the relationship between seas and continents. Together with traditional approaches from the delta or "Continental approach" researchers come to open their wide visions in new perspectives on "A View from the sea", or "A View from the mountain". By focusing on the role of rivers and the connection between three spaces: Seas-Deltas and Mountains, the article seeks to propose a new view on Vietnamese history from "A view from the rivers".

The Vietnamese revolutionary press was born and developed in association with the struggle against colonialism for national independence and freedom.


Publishing the revolutionary press in prisons was a very special activity because it not only required courage but also intelligence, insights, and sharp theories. The press in French colonial prisons in Tonkin from 1930 to 1945 had typical characteristics in terms of form, organization and contents. They played an important role in propagandizing the Party's direction, as a tool for educating party members, the masses and "weapon" of resistance against opposed concepts and considered a great contribution to the success of the Vietnamese revolution.

On December 31, 2015, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) was officially established marking an important turning point for ASEAN towards a unified market with the free movement of goods, services, investments, and skilled human-resources.


In the article, the author seeks to analyze opportunities and challenges for Vietnamese vocational education when the AEC came into being and became effective in practice. Since then, the author has bravely proposed some solutions to help Vietnam's vocational education overcome constraints and take advantage of opportunities to develop and integrate successfully into the general trend of the region.

Prior to the 16th century, the Central Vietnam (Cochinchina) under the management of the Nguyen talented lords emerged strongly in economic, social and cultural aspects as well as military and politics. The Nguyen lords implemented a variety of local economic development policies and actively protected the sovereignty of the sea contributing to the building and consolidation of the state administration in a new land.


From 1993 to 1998, Vietnamese managers and researchers, along with their Japanese colleagues, carried out surveys in the area of ​​Hoi An ancient town and collected some Han Nom materials which were previously kept at store by Minh Huong commune. This is a valuable source of information to help us better understand the position of Quang Nam Palace as well as its management role to Hoi An commercial port in history.

The article seeks to focus on the new features of the History program with the following specific contents: (i) how does history play a role in the Overall Program; (ii) viewpoints of building the Program of history curriculum; (iii) new approach on goal and structure of the History Curriculum; and (iv) orientation of methods in teaching History in general education.

Công tác Đảng từ năm 1953, Đảng ủy viên Đảng ủy Ủy ban Khoa học Nhà nước (nay là Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học xã hội Việt Nam) 1959-1960.
