The private ownership in Ha Chau district was different to Ha Tien province, when the proportion of privately owned land occupied the majority. Basically, the private land in Ha Chau district was small and fragmented, reaching not the maximum concentration such other areas in Cochinchina. The single-ownership form became commonplace in Ha Chau district and there was no multi-ownership form because of historical and social factors. In addition, the cadastral register of the Ha Chau district is significant in suggesting a new study on the national sovereignty in the Southwest frontier in the relationship between Dai Nam and Chan Lap in the nineteenth century.
